Life begins at 40.

Those were the words that defined Ritah Aliguma’s special milestone as she celebrated four decades of life - not only with gratitude for the journey travelled, but with a renewed commitment to continue touching lives through giving.

On June 20, 2026, the Aliguma Foundation CEO celebrated her 40th birthday with a close-knit gathering of family and friends at Sunnyville Lakeside Apartments in Garuga, Entebbe.

It was a beautiful celebration of life, friendship and memories, but true to what has become Ritah Aliguma’s way of life, the biggest gift was not one she received - it was one she gave.

Rather than asking friends and well-wishers to bring presents, Ritah encouraged them to join her in sharing love and hope with mothers and children who needed it most.

Her birthday wish was simple: to put smiles on 40 mothers and 40 children at the Serina Ward of Masindi Hospital through the donation of Mama Kits and essential household items.

For Ritah, turning 40 was about celebrating the blessing of being able to give.

“Life begins at 40, and for me this new chapter is about continuing to serve, continuing to love and continuing to give back. The greatest joy is not what we receive, but the happiness we create in someone else’s life,” Ritah said.
“The Bible teaches us that it is more blessed to give than to receive. This was my small way of sharing my blessings and making someone’s journey a little easier.”

Walking The Talk

And over the weekend, Ritah, together with officials and elite volunteers from the Aliguma Foundation, travelled to Masindi Hospital to personally deliver the birthday gifts.

The visit was more than a donation exercise. It was a moment of connection, compassion and encouragement.

At the Serina Maternity Ward, mothers and children who were going through difficult moments received essential supplies that brought comfort and renewed hope.

The smiles that followed were priceless.

For some, the items represented more than material support - they represented a reminder that someone cared, someone remembered and someone was willing to stand with them during challenging moments.

Hands Of Love: With every package handed over, Ritah Aliguma delivered a reminder that every mother and child deserves care, dignity and support.

Honouring A Legacy Of Giving

The gesture was also deeply personal for Ritah and the Aliguma Foundation.

The initiative continued the Foundation’s tradition of celebrating important moments by giving back to communities.

The Aliguma Foundation began its charity journey in 2017 with a mission of transforming lives through sports and enterprise, sharing love and support with vulnerable communities, especially women and children.

The Masindi Hospital initiative was held in memory of Ritah’s beloved grandmother, Serina Bikundi, and her late mother, Sunny Nsungwa Magezi, who dedicated more than 25 years of service to Masindi Hospital.

Their legacy of compassion, service and care continues to inspire Ritah’s work today.

“This is bigger than my birthday. It is about honouring the women who raised me, the values they stood for and ensuring that their spirit of service continues through helping others,” Ritah added.

A Welcome Gesture of Hope

The Masindi Hospital team welcomed the initiative and appreciated the timely support extended to mothers and children at the facility.

Led by Kevin Nyambubi, Principal Nursing Officer at Masindi Hospital, hospital officials commended Ritah and the Aliguma Foundation team for choosing to celebrate through service.

The support, especially for mothers in the maternity section, was described as a meaningful gesture that provided comfort and encouragement.

Priceless Smiles: The smiles of mothers at Serina Ward became the greatest reward as Ritah Aliguma’s birthday wish transformed into moments of hope, comfort and appreciation.

40 Years Of Life. 11 Years Of Giving. A Lifetime Of Purpose.

As Ritah Aliguma stepped into her 40th year, she did so carrying a message that has defined her journey: That success is measured not only by what one achieves, but by the lives one touches along the way.

Her birthday celebration may have happened in Garuga, but the true celebration continued in Masindi - through the smiles of mothers, the hope of children and the power of giving.

Welcome To The Fourth Floor Ritah Aliguma! A life celebrated. A legacy continued.
